I'm J.J., otherwise known as MilkandGIn. Thanks for installing Syxx, a DNS investigation and protection suite. Syxx traces lookups end to end — spoofed answers, poisoned caches, silent exfiltration — and shows you, with evidence, exactly which DNS responses you can trust.
You're holding an early build, and I want to be straight with you about what that means: some features are still on the bench, and you may hit rough edges before I do. New features will land at least every two weeks until the full suite is in place — the app you have today is the smallest it will ever be.
Three favors while you're here:
- Flag anything that breaks. If you hit a major bug — a crash, an issue with the determinative engine, a probe that never returns, whatever.— I want to know about it before anyone else does. The app is equipped with telemetry for remote debugging but it is hosted by me (no third party servers). Put my server through a stress test and send those bug reports.
- Tell me what features you need. The roadmap is real, but it isn't sacred. If there's a capability you need, your recommendation can move it to the front of the line. Please stay on that feedback button. Don't hold back.
- Let's not forget the web server. I am wealthy on server space (and bandwidth) but short on ideas. I especially want to hear your thoughts on what to do with it. It was, and remains, a sterile vantage for comparing information but I see it as more. Whether its encrypted DNS protocol support, expanded command support for the web terminal, or whatever else, tell me what you see.
I hope to make Syxx a part of a series of utilities that probes our our devices and tries to answer one basic question: Why you gotta lie? Today, DNS but tomorrow and thereafter I want to look at the pipes, cryptography, our file systems, and so much more.
